PA Principal Faculty – Assistant/Associate Professor
The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Physician Assistant (PA) Program is seeking a dynamic PA to join our team as we expand to the thriving MU campus in Columbia, Missouri. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an established program as we increase our capacity to train PAs to serve the health care needs of Missourians. Work alongside colleagues committed to excellence in PA education and play a key role in shaping the MU campus. This is a ranked full time non-tenure track faculty position with UMKC, which is located at the MU campus in Columbia, Missouri. The UMKC PA program is recognized for our quality graduates, innovative curriculum, community service, and professional stewardship. This 29-month (7 semester) program currently admits 20 students per cohort at the UMKC Health Sciences District campus and proposes to admit up to 20 students per cohort at the MU location. Faculty enjoy growth opportunities through tuition reduction, career mentorship and scholarly activity support.
Responsibilities: The experienced clinician/educator will be instrumental in launching our distant campus location and mentor the next generation of PAs in a supportive and collaborative academic environment. The faculty member will be involved in all facets of delivering a rigorous curriculum. Faculty will teach and direct courses in the didactic and clinical phases of the program, collaborate with dedicated faculty to implement an array of teaching and evaluation strategies, and build on existing relationships with clinical partners. Additional duties include student academic and professional development advising; participation in student admissions activities; participation in the program’s ongoing self-study, accreditation, assessment, and continuous improvement processes; and involvement in university service activities.
Qualifications: Minimum requirements for this position include graduation from an accredited PA program, hold or working toward a Master’s degree, eligibility for Missouri PA licensure, and current NCCPA-certification. Previous teaching experience is desirable. The candidate should be highly motivated and organized as well as possess excellent communication skills.

Part Time PA Faculty Position in Columbia Missouri
The UMKC Physician Assistant (PA) Program is seeking a dynamic PA to join our team in a part time faculty position as we expand to the MU campus in Columbia, MO. Qualifications: Requirements include: graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program, current NCCPA certification and eligibility for Missouri licensure, hold (or actively pursuing) a Master’s degree or higher in a healthcare or health professions education area. The APP will partner with two experienced oncologists in the group to take care of existing oncology and hematology patients.
Roles and responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities would be toxicity evaluation on chemotherapy, discussing management of chemotherapy side effects, ordering pertinent lab tests, prescribing supportive medications including controlled substances, taking part in Tumor Board and providing chemotherapy education
APP will not be expected to see new consults or perform procedures.
Collaborate with the physicians and other health care professionals in the development of treatment goals and care plans and coordinate services and treatments to implement and accomplish these goals and plans.
Record all patient data, including history and physical examination, problems identified, intervention provided results of care, and plans for follow-up or referral.
