Job Summary:

We are seeking a Physician Assistant to become a part of our team! You will focus on providing high quality patient care as part of a healthcare team.

Overview:

Seeking mission-driven, full-time Physician Assistant. IFM Community Medicine is a 501c3 not-for-profit St Louis organization providing quality primary care services to uninsured and under-resourced individuals. Our mission is “Strengthening underserved communities one patient at time”. We partner with schools, shelters and social service agencies and set up clinical sites “within their walls” to reduce the barriers of cost, transportation, and distrust of the traditional system.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illnesses

• Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients

• Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures

• Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities

• Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in the medical field helpful

• Ability to build rapport with patients

Role Purpose

Utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in a specialized area to coordinate, manage and evaluate the delivery of quality patient care. Serves as a role model, mentor, and preceptor for others. Enters into a formal collaborative practice agreement with physician(s) to support a designated clinical service.

Responsibilities

• Manages the health care of select patient populations through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation.
• Coordinates the care of select patient populations to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services and placing referrals.
• Assesses development needs of staff and develops and delivers appropriate educational programs to meet staff needs.
• Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol.
