*Work collaboratively with physicians and assist in a multidisciplinary practice for the treatment of emergency related diagnosis.
*Perform essential patient care functions.
*Assist in the evaluation and management of emergency department and urgent care patients.
*Conduct comprehensive health assessments and demonstrate a high level of autonomy in the diagnosis and treatment of actual and potential health problems.
*Assists in the identification of trends related to patients and participates in quality improvement activities.
*Help guide the development and implementation of structure, process, and outcomes standards.
*Actively participate in clinical research, as needed.

Education:
Master’s degree required.
Required Licensure or Certification:
Graduation from an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited physician assistant program.
May possess a specialty certificate by the National Commission on Certification of
Physician Assistants (NCCPA), in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Nephrology, Orthopedic Surgery, Pediatrics or Psychiatry. Possession of a current Missouri license to practice as a licensed Physician Assistant is required.
Experience:
For Emergency Medicine positions: A minimum of two years’ experience as a physician assistant in an acute care area or completion of post-graduate PA residency/fellowship in an emergency medicine setting.

Provides physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures, first and second assisting.
