A Missouri PA pioneer and MOAPA past president, Charles Drew Morten, passed away March 16, 2016. Drew and his wife moved to St. Louis, MO is 1977 where Drew completed a PA program and later earned a master's degree in public health from St. Louis University. Much of the early development and advancement of the PA profession in Missouri was directly related to Drew and his efforts.
In 1997 Drew and his family relocated to Connecticut where he served as the president of the Connecticut Academy of Physician Assistants. The CT PA Foundation is establishing a student PA scholarship in memory of Drew Morten, PA-C.
The scholarship will be awarded to a PA student who exemplified interest, action and advocacy for PA policy, scope of practice, and law.
